OEM & ODM Perfume Manufacturer in India

OEM and ODM perfume manufacturing from Ahmedabad — build on our fragrance library or compose to brief. IFRA-compliant, export-ready, documented production.

OEM and ODM are two distinct manufacturing models that serve different types of perfume brands. Understanding the difference — and knowing when to use each — determines your control over formulation, your speed to market, and your total production cost.

Fragrance & Fashion operates both OEM and ODM programmes from our 10,000 sq ft facility in Moriya, Ahmedabad. Whether you arrive with a proprietary formula and detailed specifications, or you need us to develop the fragrance and design the product from scratch, the output is the same: documented, compliant, export-ready perfume bearing your brand's label.

OEM vs ODM — What Is the Difference?

The distinction is straightforward, but it has significant implications for intellectual property, cost structure, and production timeline.

OEM — Original Equipment Manufacturing

In an OEM arrangement, the brand provides the fragrance formula and product specifications. The manufacturer's role is execution: compounding the formula, sourcing the specified components, filling, packaging, and quality control.

In an OEM arrangement, the brand provides the fragrance formula, detailing the exact composition and ratios, along with the component specifications such as the bottle, cap, and packaging. You also supply the label and packaging artwork, as well as the compliance documentation, though we can verify your formula against IFRA standards if needed. In return, we deliver a manufactured product to your exact specification, complete with batch records and traceability documentation. The final result is a batch of quality-tested, retail-ready units.

OEM is the model for brands that have invested in proprietary formulations — whether developed in-house, by an independent perfumer, or through a fragrance house. The formula is yours; we execute at scale.

ODM — Original Design Manufacturing

In an ODM arrangement, the manufacturer handles both formulation and production. The brand provides a direction — a mood board, a reference fragrance, a target market — and the manufacturer develops the product.

In this process, you provide the brand brief and market positioning, along with the fragrance direction based on references, mood boards, or specific note preferences. You can also specify packaging preferences or rely entirely on our design capabilities, while outlining your budget and volume parameters. We then deliver a bespoke fragrance developed by our in-house perfumers, complete with component selection and packaging design. The outcome is a fully manufactured, filled, quality-tested, and retail-ready product.

ODM is the model for brands that want to leverage the manufacturer's formulation expertise. It is faster to market, requires less internal R&D, and gives brands access to a perfumer's library and experience without maintaining their own creative team.

Our OEM Programme

For brands with established formulations, our OEM programme provides documented, auditable production.

What We Handle

Our comprehensive service handles every step of the process. This begins with formula verification, ensuring your formula is checked against IFRA safety standards before production begins. We then manage raw material procurement, sourcing ingredients from our established network, unless you prefer to supply specific materials. Our team oversees compounding and maceration, including bulk blending and temperature-controlled storage. We also handle component sourcing to your exact specification, including bottles, caps, pumps, and packaging. The production line takes care of precision filling, capping, and assembly, followed by rigorous quality control involving batch testing, weight checks, leak testing, and visual inspection. Finally, we complete the packaging—which covers labelling, box assembly, shrink wrapping, and barcoding—before managing the dispatch, involving palletisation and shipping to your warehouse or fulfilment centre.

Documentation Provided

Every OEM order ships with:

Every OEM order ships with complete paperwork to ensure compliance and traceability. This includes batch production records, an IFRA conformity statement, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and a certificate of analysis. We also provide export compliance documentation where applicable, along with Product Information File (PIF) support for EU markets.

Intellectual Property

In our OEM programme, your formula remains your intellectual property. We do not use, reproduce, or share proprietary formulations with other clients. Confidentiality agreements are standard.

Our ODM Programme

For brands that need formulation support, our ODM programme covers fragrance development through to finished product.

The Development Process

  1. Brief — share your brand positioning, target audience, and fragrance direction. References can be a competitor product, a memory, a mood board, or a set of notes.
  2. Composition — our perfumers develop accords based on your brief. We work with imported and Indian-sourced fragrance materials — naturals, synthetics, and captives.
  3. Sampling — fragrance samples are provided for evaluation and benchmarking. Multiple rounds of refinement are standard.
  4. Approval — once the fragrance is approved, we freeze the formula and prepare for production.
  5. Component selection — bottles, caps, and packaging are selected from our catalogue of 200+ shapes, or custom moulds are developed.
  6. Production — compounding, filling, packaging, and quality control.
  7. Dispatch — retail-ready units shipped to your specification.

Fragrance Families We Develop

Our in-house perfumers work across all major fragrance families:

Our in-house perfumers work across all major fragrance families. We craft oriental and oud profiles featuring rich oud, amber, saffron, and musk compositions, alongside floral blends with rose, jasmine, tuberose, and modern floral accords. For woody scents, we utilize sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, and patchouli bases. We also develop fresh and citrus fragrances with bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, and aquatic notes, as well as aromatic compositions featuring lavender, thyme, rosemary, and herbal elements. Finally, our gourmand offerings include vanilla, tonka, caramel, and praline accords.

We specialise in Arabic and oud compositions, attars, and alcohol-free formulations — areas where the Indian perfumery tradition provides deep material knowledge.

Documentation and Compliance for Export

Both OEM and ODM programmes include full export documentation handled in-house:

Market Documentation
European Union PIF support, IFRA conformity, CE marking, MSDS
United Kingdom Post-Brexit UKCA readiness, SCPN notification support
